Everyone is welcome to help raise awareness of and funds for research into ovarian cancer by enjoying a decedent high tea while wearing your favourite flowered frock! Tickets include a delectable high tea, glass of champagne or a mocktail on arrival and tea and coffee throughout the afternoon. Dress code is a touch of spring and while frocks are encouraged they are not mandatory (yes, the gents can breath a sigh of relief).

We will be raising funds for the OCRF and their important work seeking an early detection test for ovarian cancer. The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) was established in May 2000 to foster research into ovarian cancer - a disease which claims the life of one Australian woman every 10 hours and often remains undetected until in its advanced stages.

OCRF has developed to become one of Australia’s pre-eminent bodies supporting ovarian cancer research programs that occur nationally, and is focused upon the understanding of the causes of ovarian cancer, its early detection and improving patient survival.

A gynaecological cancer, cancer of the ovaries is one of the most common cancers affecting women and is often detected in the advanced stage of the disease, resulting in a high mortality rate. This is because the symptoms of ovarian cancer are not recognised immediately. Once diagnosed, treatment will usually include surgery and chemotherapy, depending on the stage of the cancer at diagnosis.

One goal of the OCRF is to improve the mortality rate and long-term survival rates for ovarian cancer. This may be achieved by the development of an early detection program, which is the focus of much of the ovarian cancer fundraising activities of the OCRF and by raising community awareness.  The proceeds from the Spring High Tea will go to directly support this important research.

Tickets will go on sale shortly, so get your friends together, frock up and get set for a fabulous event.

After all life is better when you are frolicking in a frock!!!
